These outings will not include many museums and galleries as there is another group for these. If you’re interested in regular outings to well-known, less known and downright quirky places and one-off events, this is the group for you.
We will be going to a mix of events, heritage locations (such as National Trust) and many others, some in London and some outside, taking half a day or a whole day. These could include, for example, trips to seaside and country locations, Oxford and Cambridge, visits to stately homes, a tour around Greenwich, Fulham Palace and the London Wetland Centre.
I will also aim to include places with limited/rare public opening. Everyone’s ideas for outings are welcome – just let me know – and it’s even better if we know someone connected with the place who could do a bespoke tour for us. So do join us for our varied explorations and adventures!
Group Convener : Roslyn Byfield
The Group meets at various locations in London or further afield once a month. We use public transport and meet at the station where our outing starts.
This form may also be used to contact the Convener on all matters relating to the Group
Thank you Roslyn so much for organising such brilliant events … It really is much appreciated and I tell everyone that U3A has changed my life so positively. What a fun and interesting bunch of people with skills, talents and interesting lives. Long may it continue and go from strength to strength. – Arlene Rose, Member No. 173
