A hugely successful Open Day and celebration of our second anniversary was held for the first time at the Union Church and Community Centre.
More than 150 visitors new to U3A as well as existing members turned out to enjoy a brilliant afternoon of U3A community activity.
Some 60+ interest groups covering a wide range of activities – sport, music, literature, and languages to name but a few displayed their ‘wares’ with their enthusiastic conveners on hand to provide further information.
For many it was a welcome opportunity to mingle when time allowed and to catch-up on U3A activities over the year.
The result? The Crouch End & District U3A’s current membership is now over 770!
Even the weather was favourable with the threat of early rain receding as visitors arrived.
“Great afternoon at our Open Day. Lots of Group stalls. Lots of new members and signers to groups. Great tea and biscuits. Nice to catch up with members I haven’t seen for while.” – CEDU3A member Lesley Ramm.
“How about this for a result? Someone came to our Open Day yesterday, joined up online last night and came along to her first group this morning. Welcome to the Crochet Group, Jackie Barnes!” – CEDU3A convener Jacqui Osley.
