Nazeing and the Stort Valley

Distance : 10.5 miles / 17 km

A circular walk, that begins and ends at Roydon Station, a 17 minute train journey from Tottenham Hale.

This is an easy, flat, winter walk around the parishes of Roydon and Nazeing in Essex. We start by following the Essex/Herts boundary, along the river, lock and reservoir systems of the Rivers Stort and Lee. Our route then takes us through Lower Nazeing, from where we continue until we reach the delightfully named Bumble’s Green, where we shall be having a pub lunch at the King Harold’s Head.

After lunch, we follow the Stort Valley Way, turning off at Roydon Hamlet to head for Roydon Village and station to catch our train home.
