Shorter Walks Group

There are two different types of walks – more leisurely guided walks with some historical content, up to 2 miles, and healthy exercise walks up to 5 miles, sometimes covering muddy ground, at a faster pace.

This is a very popular group. As a result some of the walks will be limited in number, for example, guided walks in urban areas. If an advertised walk is limited, members will be informed by e-mail, and bookings will be accepted on a first come/first served basis. Group leaders phone numbers will be available on regular emails about each walk.

Each walk will start at the advertised time. It is your responsibility to arrive in good time, i.e. 10 minutes before, so as not to inconvenience other group members. If you are delayed, the phone numbers of group leaders will be made available by email, so please contact them before the start time.

Whenever possible the walk leader will have received Emergency First Aid training.

The Group is currently without a Convener. Until such time as a new Convener is appointed, we regret that we are unable to process any new applications to join the Group.

To help ensure that we all enjoy our walks, members of the Group are strongly advised to become acquainted with our walks etiquette, which contains common sense advice to ensure everyone’s safety. There is also advice about suitable clothing, and bringing dogs on walks.
