 The Group is aimed at enthusiastic photographers who would like to improve their skills, learning about and from world renowned photographers e.g Cartier Bresson, Ansel Adams, Steve McCurry, Martin Parr, etc. The focus of the Group will be on photographs that tell stories – or narrative photography – looking at all styles; street, travel, fashion, portraiture, social commentary, and the ways photographers in these genres invite the viewers into the picture, to ask questions, to make a statement, to challenge. We will look at different techniques – cropping, composition, lighting, styling, capturing emotion, the rule of thirds, B&W v Colour, post-processing etc. ❑ For each meeting, members research photographs and photographers on a specific theme and also share their own work on the same theme with the group, discussing how the images are constructed, styled, cropped etc to understand their strength and story ❑ The Group will occasionally venture out together to single destinations and put ideas into practice and share images in follow up meetings  Graham Bennett (Group Convener) |
