Wimbledon Park to Richmond
7.5 miles / 12 km

🟦 Fully booked

We thought we would have a gentle start with a walk from Wimbledon Park to Richmond. This is a section of the Capital Ring and may be familiar to many of the group, but we think it bears repeating. It passes through some of the best of southwest London’s green spaces – Wimbledon Park, Putney Heath (where we walk past Queen’s Mere, a favourite spot of the Wombles apparently), Richmond Park and Petersham Park – with a walk beside the Thames to finish

Monday 15 July 2024
Oxshott Heath and Esher Common
7.8 miles / 12 km

🟦 Book between midday 19 June and midday 20 June

An undulating circular walk through Oxshott Heath, Esher Common and West End Common, which was undertaken by the Middle Way Walkers Group in January. The walk starts in the open heathland of Oxshott Heath, just across the road from the station. It continues up and down through delightful woodlands, stopping at the National Trust cafe Claremont Park for packed lunch. Following that we walk up to a viewpoint and then down along the river Mole, past Black Pond and ultimately returning to Oxshott station. Please note that there are a few flights of steps
