Like Book Group 1, we enjoy reading and talking about books and their hinterland. We are open to a wide range of literature in English, including translations. Our books, on the whole, are likely to be recent, and possibly on prize lists, but there is no reason not to delve into the past for classics and old favourites. Currently we do focus on works of fiction. Individual members will suggest books, and the group will decide which book to read for the next meeting. Some books will be new to everyone, and some recollected from the past. We will discuss our book for up to an hour and a half, plus time for tea and coffee and biscuits. Normally we will discuss one book per session Roz Hudson (Group Convener) |
