We are a friendly birdwatching group with varying levels of expertise and aim to be inclusive to all. Initially we set up to make the most of our local area e.g. Walthamstow Wetlands and Hampstead Heath but have recently started travelling further afield to include birding sites in and around London such as Rainham Marshes and the Lee Valley. Our ambition is to enjoy being outdoors in all seasons to learn about our local birds. Birding experience is not necessary, we welcome anyone who has an interest in birds and who is committed to contribute to the development of the group. We follow the RSPB code to respect wildlife and the environment, encouraging birdwatching in a quiet and respectful way. As such, we are not a social activity group per se, however we do socialise together over refreshments at the end of the outing to share our thoughts on our sightings. Binoculars and weatherproof clothing are essential, and a bird guidebook would be helpful Isobel Salisbury and Iain Miller (Group Conveners)
When the Group meets varies, but usually on Thursdays, generally 9.30 a.m – 1 p.m., but when we travel further afield timings are longer/td>
