Architecture and the Built Environment

Barking Riverside Station. Architect: Weston Williamson

This group is led by members with experience in both architecture and planning. It will appeal to those who are interested in both the design of buildings and how they come to be realised in the built environment. The sessions will be participatory with all members encouraged to share their knowledge and expertise with the whole group. Group activities include:

❑ site visits, both studying individual buildings but also looking at the history of areas and the forms our environment takes

❑ talks about architecture and planning

❑ getting to know features of interest in both the local and wider London area

❑ The group has had a lot of expressions of interest, and we are limited by the size of the venues we can hire. However, we would still like to hear from individuals with expertise who are willing to consider leading talks and discussions, or preparing visits to interesting architectural sites
