Hanwell to South Kenton

10 miles – 16.1km

This stretch combines two shorter stages from the Green London Way to make a more viable full daywalk, but there are plenty of transport links on route for anyone who finds it a bit too long. Starting from Hanwell Station we follow the River Brent, once described as an ‘open sewer’ but thankfully now cleaned up and forming the backbone to a pleasant, landscaped riverside park. We leave the river to cross Perivale Park and then follow a stretch along the Grand Union Canal. From there we climb Horsenden Hill (279 feet, 85 metres) with its fabulous views over west London. After a section of road walking we climb Harrow Hill (426 feet, 130 metres), past a rather famous school and its playing fields towards our final destination, South Kenton station.
