🟩 Pepys' Walk From Tower Bridge to Greenwich

A 6+ mile walk along the south bank of the Thames in the footsteps of the celebrated diarist Samuel Pepys. Although this walk is longer than our usual 5-mile limit, it is entirely on a level, well-paved path. The reward for the extra distance is the chance to see some truly spectacular views of the City with old and new buildings intermingled, plus a sense of how this part of Southeast London has developed since the days when the docks were central to the city’s economy

              🟩 Bermondsey

Bermondsey is now an up and coming area with expensive apartments and offices. It combines rundown estates with increasingly trendy areas. In Saxon times it was desolate marshland with a few small islands. Later it became an area where the 'dirty work' of London took place. This walk will look at how this area has changed and developed over the centuries
