From Halling Station, we walk north through the village to meet the NDW, which we follow to the NE. As we loop around Cuxton, there are fine views of the River Medway, as we gradually approach the M2. After crossing the motorway, we turn SE to cross the River Medway, using the walkway built alongside the motorway bridges. From here we can see Rochester Castle and Cathedral off to our left, while admiring aquatic birds feeding on the salt marsh and the yachts at Medway Bridge Marina. We cross the M2 for a second time and are then back on to open farmland, ascending Nashenden Down and Burnham Down until we reach The Robin Hood Pub for a well-deserved drink and a late lunch stop. Soon after, we leave the NDW to head across farmland towards Eccles and then Aylesford where we pick up a river path that leads us to Aylesford Station and the end of our walk.
