▷ CEDu3a Executive Committee actions

Summarised actions arising from the Executive Committee (EC) meeting held on 14th May 2021.

Executive Processes

The AGM has been held online successfully for the second year and although there were slightly fewer participants, numbers were still well above quorum level. The draft minutes have already been placed on the website.
A skills audit of EC members is being trialled, which when analysed against priority areas of expertise, will contribute to informing future decisions about recruitment to the committee amongst other aspects.
CEDu3a remains in a very secure financial situation at present, with expenditure to date this year being £6,192 against a planned budget of £10,120, largely explained by the ongoing need to hold most meetings online.
A Diversity Workshop is being arranged for EC members for 22nd June.

Interest Groups / Members

Outdoor-exercise and sports groups have already restarted in line with government guidance, together with more groups recommencing after 17th May following the governments planned easing of restrictions.
The Interest Groups Team has held online meetings recently with conveners to understand the likely organisational changes that might be required in future, e.g smaller meetings, more spacious venues etc.so that new arrangements can be considered where necessary. It is recognised that Zoom is likely to be used into the longer term as part of a ‘mixed economy’ of meeting arrangements. Covid risk assessments will be in place when groups do meet.
Following the success of the summer party held in 2019, it is planned to hold two summer parties for members this year, possibly one in the Crouch End area and one in Muswell Hill. A Quiz Night is being organised for 6th July.

Talks / Communications

Online talks have been booked up end July (see details on the CEDu3a website) and will possibly continue after that, once greater clarity is available about the government’s possible 21st June threshold for easing social restrictions.
Consideration is being given to how information can be passed on to members in a more coordinated way across the website, bulletin and newsletter, to provide clearer access to information and reduce duplication.
It is hoped that an Open Day can be arranged for sometime in September, which will be specifically targeted at potential new members.
