  CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Monthly Meetings

The CEDU3A Executive Committee (EC) have agreed that, with great regret, that we should cancel all forthcoming Monthly Meetings.

We will keep the situation under review and resume Monthly Meetings at a suitable time in the future.

We will email you regularly to reflect any changes. You will all be receiving the monthly Bulletins with up to date information and the website will be updated.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held after the April Monthly Meeting on 2nd April will be postponed until such time as it is suitable to reconvene. Members are invited to submit any queries they may have, following the receipt of the AGM paperwork, to Secretary@cedu3a.org.uk. We will compile the questions and answers into a document to distribute to members in due course. Please submit any questions by 2nd April.

As the positions of Chair and three new Trustees were uncontested following the call for nominations, Sally Whitaker will take up the role of Chair, Brenda Dardelin, Llorett Kemplen and Charlie Sharp will join the Executive Committee as Trustees from 2nd April. Sue Felgate, the current Chair will stand down as will Ed Allen, the current Membership Secretary. We are tremendously grateful to both Sue and Ed for all they have done in the setting up of CEDU3A in 2017 and running of it until now. Tributes will be paid to both in due course.

Social Events

The New Members’ Coffee Morning scheduled for 31st March will be cancelled and another one run at a suitable time. The Pub lunches will cease for the time being as will the monthly Coffee Mornings.

Interest Groups

Until now we have taken the position that interest groups could make their own decisions about whether to continue. Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of 16 March 2020 regarding the ceasing of non-essential social contact, we can no longer agree to groups meeting. Diana Pavey, Groups Coordinator, will be contacting the Conveners shortly to set out possible ways of proceeding, with a particular focus on how to retain contact among group members through, for example, email discussions.

Should some group members decide to continue to meet they do so at their own risk and against our advice

Members who have been infected, or are exhibiting potential symptoms such as a temperature or cold, or where their close family members have contracted the virus are now expected to self isolate for 14 days.

Please keep us informed of any concerns such as risk of infection and actual infection by emailing vicechair@cedu3a.org.uk. As a community organisation please look out for fellow members who may be vulnerable, without, of course, endangering yourself.

CEDU3A is so very important to us all. Please be assured we will get everything up and running again as soon as we possibly can. Please take care and keep well.
