Return to Fishers Green

A return to a favourite location in early November for members of the Birdwatching Group – Fishers Green in the Lee Valley Park. Despite the rather gloomy weather, the scenery looked very atmospheric in autumnal colours with mist hanging over the lake, and there were plenty of water and woodland birds to see and hear. Highlights included numerous Grebes, Gadwalls, Pochards and Wigeon, several flocks of Long-tailed Tits, two Kingfisher sightings (at least by some of us who were lucky enough to be looking the right way at the right time!) and a close encounter with a fox.
