North Downs Way

The changing of the hour this coming weekend, means that the Longer Walks Group are pausing the North Downs Way walks until the spring of 2020. The shorter days and the increasing journey times making it unfeasible to continue.
Despite having to cancel the October walk, we have now completed approximately 70 miles of the North Downs Way (or just under half of the full route of 153 miles), although if you add on the ‘to-ing and fro-ing’ from stations that are not actually on the route then we have done a fair bit more.
The plan is that after the winter break, we will return to Halling in late April 2020 to complete the next leg of the walk that finishes in Aylesford. Following that, there are a further 6 walks to complete before we reach the end of the North Downs Way on Dover sea-front.
The final two sections of the walk around Folkestone and Dover, will form the centrepiece of our 2020 residential. For those of you who like to plan ahead, this will take place in the week commencing 21 September 2020.
